Our journey with EatFruit almost didn’t begin, if not for a chance morning meeting with a school mother, Mary. Starting a business is inherently risky.  However, Mary’s generous offer to use her unit, complete with fridges, on weekends free of charge made our decision much easier, eliminating the need for a burdensome lease.

 

We took the step to pursue our dream, but timing was not on our side. Just a few months later, the pandemic struck, leading to lockdowns and the unfortunate closure of Mary’s company. If there was to be a positive of this situation, we were fortunate that Laura, who worked for Jessica and assisted us on our very first day, joined the EatFruit team.

 

As a new business, we faced significant challenges with limited funds. We valued every single order and managed to survive thanks to one business paying in advance without being asked, a regular NHS order, and the unwavering hard work of our team.

 

This brings us to the focus of this letter: Laura. From packing our first fruit box to becoming an indispensable part of our team. She works tirelessly and has played a crucial role in our growth and success.

 

Though Laura has shown immense dedication to EatFruit, her true passion lies with flowers. From a young age, she has cherished the beauty of flowers and believes in their power to bring happiness and joy. We want to now help Laura fulfil her dream of starting a floristry business, in the same way she has helped us realise ours.

 

The website is ready ( we think !) and we would like to invite you to be one of our first customers. We need your feedback to ensure everything is perfect in these early days. Over the next three weeks, we will send a beautiful card featuring one of our flowers. Simply take a photo of all three cards and email it to us, and for the first 50 we receive we will send you a beautiful bouquet for just £10 including delivery.
